Kate:
Yeh, I was thinking that yesterday.... looked at the list though and looks like the nearest is Exeter, which, believe it or not is over 2 hours away. Not all is lost though, I remembered my old work mate at the pottery has a moggy (which he never stops talking about if you start him!). I expect he's got it all sorted and knows about others in the area. Maybe we should start our own!try joining your local MMOC branch, they'll probably be chock full of people who can give you helpful advice

On the other hand I'm looking for jobs nationally so where I'll settle is anyone's guess...
Yeh, I've grown up on a farm, which is kind of good as you dont get the peer pressure that some things are 'not done', which you get closer into a community. I dont think any of my friends know how to lamb a breach. (Actually thats not true - being at uni in North Wales means I know a few!! But thats beside the pointMy dad's actually a computer (network hardware) designer, it's just he's one of these incredibly practical human beings. It's from him that I get the whole "I can do that" attitude

My mum's also a doctor, from a time when it was only just becoming something women did (Its becoming the reverse now!). She and my Dad never told me or my sisters that there's anything we cant do, so it never occurred to me there was! Or that other people might think there is - until I got into the wide world and met those people!
It took me a while to cotton on, but now I'm getting more assertive. ;-)
Its not even worth the time of talking about, when compared to the struggle other people have to succeed, who happen to have a certain background or live in the wrong country etc etc. Not atall.
My hydrology course, incidentally, was a class of all boys, plus me. Isn't that surprising? I think the supervisors accepted me cos I had some funny (completely hair-brained) ideas and they were intrigued as to where it would go...

Anyway. This whole thread is turning into waffle, and I should be finishing painting the outside of the house as its a lovely sunny day!
Thanks again, Everyone!
