Re: Nangkang Tyres

As I've posted on a few occasions now, I cannot praise the Blockley tyres highly enough. They have made a huge improvement to ride comfort. I actually paid a tad less than the RRP as I did a 'deal' at the NEC Restoration show and I did buy 5 of them. As Stephen says, the full price is as near as mak...

Re: Interesting car on Gumtree

The word 'scam' screams loud and clear to me! The car doesn't appear to be in particularly outstanding condition. For that sort of money, even if it was 'unique', it would need to be in concours condition. I'm no expert in the MM Series but what is that tube that can be seen to the right of the air ...

CME979A Almond Green 2 door saloon Dual Personality - old style car with 1098 engine, maintained not-restored. Hi Debbie - sorry, I cannot help much with the electrical issue you have with the front indicators but I can help you get your Minor logged onto the Dual Personality register! I'm sure you...

Re: Tyres

I recently had a set of Blockley tyres fitted and cannot praise them highly enough. The ride is much improved. Time will tell how they wear but given the mileage that I and probably most owners do, I think age will be the determining factor when it comes to replacement. I had Bridgestones previously...

Re: I PASSED!

Firstly, well done Mrs S for passing your manual test. As you say, 'let the fun begin'. :D One thing I did pick up on was this:- I had to do the test in a modern car as I wasn’t allowed to use Nellie I'll confess to being totally ignorant of modern day driving test rules and regs but I just wondered...

I can't contribute much to the trafficator discussion, I'm afraid - well, nothing that hasn't been said already. I have, however, sent you a PM, as I think your car may be a Dual Personality Minor.

Re: Photos wanted

With a "Y", Mervyn. I haven't a clue why. It was named that when bought in 1999. I mistyped my username when registering for the 3rd or 4th time. My previous registrations (1st in 1999) timed out because of not posting enough. Unfortunately that's an age related (SJ, Scottish) registratio...

Re: Advice on price

But it does have 'tandem' wipers but no keylock on left door? Someone moved the heater 'boost' cable to the dashboard (for convenience?) and routed the cable through the top of the bulkhead, (cable which I need to repair). Will look at the brake drum size on Monday. That's definitely a Dual Persona...

Re: Advice on price

Just something else to throw into the mix,(although I do agree with all the other suggestions of at least getting it running.....and then even an MOT ticket, if possible) but I'm 99% certain that it is a so-called 'Dual Personality' Minor. That is to say, one built between Sept '62 and Oct '64. If i...

Re: At last…..

I absolutely agree with you. I see no purpose in putting the roof up if the weather is fine because it is simply no obstacle to theft at all and as you say, the roof can be slashed so easily. However, it is unlikely the insurer would see it that way. I keep nothing in the cabin of the car whatsoeve...

Re: Stiff Passenger Door Hinge

Hi - on my 1962/3 4 door, the passenger door has become incredibly stiff. Car was not used for a couple of yrs and sat out. Guess I should lubricate the door hinges - wd40 or something else? I know a v basic qu!! thank you!! I've just sent you a PM as, from your description, I'm wondering if you ha...

Oh I see Berni, I had mistakenly thought that the update to facia etc and wipers were one and the same. Mines Oct 62 despatch date, early mk5 so definitely dpm. Re: Temporary Hazard Lights

This is something I rigged up as a quick 'n easy solution to exactly the problem that Mrs S originally raised. To be fair, it was only a 15 minute job because I had already fitted a 12v auxiliary power point (cigar lighter to older readers! :) ) so all I had to do was to secure the flasher unit in t...

Re: 322 UXG

I’m a bit reluctant to ask but can you explain what constitutes a Dual Personality Minor, the use of the term seems to have appeared out of the blue here recently. As rocco has directed you, the DPM website tells you all you need to know. It is indeed a register to record as many surviving Minors a...
