Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think you are right, the extra flange is probably there just in case it is needed, if not, cut it off.

I have a 1955 4 door series 2. My problem concerns the rear wing flange repair panel which I purchased from Charles Ware's of Bath. Do I have to cut the top part of the flange off so that I can weld it to the body? If so, why is the extra part on there? I hope this makes sense to someone out there. ...

Thank you again for your help. No, I am not building one from scatch, but the boxing plate was pretty corroded and the outer sill was virtually non existent. But at least I now have a good idea as to what I am doing. That site seems to be quite good.

I am sorry if am being stupid, but if parts 23 and 58 do not touch, how are they to be welded together?

Does anyone have any idea how the outer sill (that funny looking thing) fits to the boxing plate? :o I have been looking in every book I can think of but none of them shows a good view of exactly how they fit together. I could do with a view of these two panels from the end. A sketch would do. :lol:...

Yes please, I would like a copy of the body layout. I might already have the diagram but none of the one I have show how the sill area parts go together. This might not explain the gap that I have though, will it?

I have a full outer undersill to fit to my series 2. The problem is that most of the way along it there is a gap of about half an inch (except at the ends of course) between the outer sill and the boxing plate. What can I do about it? I have just purchased a 1955 minor. When driving it home with my wife following behind in the 'other car', the speed shown on the morris was approximately 10mph faster than it should be. I do not think that the speedo is the correct on for the car as it has an indicator lamp on it. Does anyone know ...

I have a 1955 minor and if I brake hard a shuddering comes through to the steering wheel.

How do I tell if I have the correct size engine. It is supposed to be a series 2 803cc, but I have my doubts. It is a gold colour so possibly a gold seal engine. No timing marks that I can see.
