Does anyone have any idea how the outer sill (that funny looking thing) fits to the boxing plate? I have been looking in every book I can think of but none of them shows a good view of exactly how they fit together. I could do with a view of these two panels from the end. A sketch would do.
The body panels page has a diagram of the sill section.
58 is not connected to 62 at all.
Parts 1, 3, 50, 58 and 23 are all welded together.
Part 59 sits on top of them and self-tapping screws hold it to 3.
Parts 23, 59 and 62 are held together by nuts and bolts and washers.
There are five of them and you can see the holes where they go in the diagram. 62 has slots where the bolts go.
Thank you again for your help. No, I am not building one from scatch, but the boxing plate was pretty corroded and the outer sill was virtually non existent. But at least I now have a good idea as to what I am doing. That site seems to be quite good.
