The difference is quantity though. Stainless Mini bumpers sell in huge numbers - in fact they were factory fitted in stainless on the later cars I believe.

It was pure speculation on my part

It would have been fun to get that car "driveable" but it isn't really going to live again is it. The body structure is way beyond repair and the car will realistically simply be a useful source of spare parts.

I repaired mine in that area a few years ago. I wasn't able to purchase a repair panel for it and had to fabricate it. Somebody has previously repaired yours. The only other alternative is to purchase a replacement wing.
