I have tried a proven dynamo and it is still returning the same issue.

Where next? I have played around with the adjustments in the regulator but it seems to make no difference, could it be a replacement there then? Or is it something like a bad earth?

Removed the dynamo, inspected the brushes etc. Nothing seems out of place. Refitted and same issue.

Worth a try though.

Yes the fan belt is tight, I can turn the engine over from the fan!

Unfortunately the previous owner fitted the dynamo and didn't pass on the receipt!

Alternator conversion looks likely then!

Tried to change a door yesterday, haven't got a socket that fits!

1/2" too small, 9/16" too big. Does anyone know what size they are?

I have googled it but can only find the 5/16" BSF thread size not the bolt head.

I agree Les, they quoted about £8000 to redo the floor and chassis properly therefore not worth it. People have obviously had difficult experiences in the past, I can only rate them highly for how helpful they have been so far. I haven't used them for any work though but I find them very pragmatic! ...
