I used doubled sided sticky velcro, makes it easy to remove and inspect under the carpets for leaks etc, and no fumes

you can use siicone if it is neutral cure,(whats used on aircraft) the other stuff is corosive

can you see bare metal under the cracks or whitish/grey stuff(body filler). Sometimes moisture gets into the filler before it's painted and as it dries out the paint peels away and cracks, this normally requires all the body filler to be removed to fix the problem properly

the silver speedo is actually a mk1 mini unit. I had one fitted in my ute when I bought it. They actually look quite good, but the original should be the goldy faced one

Why diesel, an equivelant petrol engine will give you 2x the HP for half the weight and they are much better for the environment. If you want fast, fit a supercharge 4AGZE 1600 engine out of a Toyota MR2. With 180hp it should push your morrie along at about 130mph and 0-60mph in about 6sec
