Oil Pressure LIght

:-? can any one help my minor has negative earth but the oil pressure light does not work bulb ok,should i apply a feed to the oil pressure switch wire i can get the oil light, the car has had a new loom some time if i put the wire to the engine also does not work?
A :oops: lso how do i trace the cars previous onwers through the dvlc ?

The oil pressure light should have a GREEN wire on one side(this is
12v) and the other side should be GREEN/YELLOW which goes to the
oil pressure switch(behind the distributor). Normally,with the ignition ON
the oil light should illuminate if you touch the GREEN/YELLOW wire
to chassis. What colour are your wires?? When you say the light works
if you apply a feed to the switch do you mean a 12v feed or a chassis
feed? This item should be under 'ELECTRICAL' not 'PROBLEMS'.

You write to the DVLA, explain that you are the owner wishing to learn it's history and enclose a cheque for £5.
