Seat belt upper mounting

Post by Bill_qaz »

The factory position upper seatbelts mounting position on my 4 door is too high on the B pillar and puts the belt too close to your neck rather than shoulder.I have been searching sometime for a suitable solution. I found mgb brackets at MGOC Spares Ltd and fitted them making the position much better. I thought this maybe good info for anyone with similar issue. I don't have the seat riser blocks as prefer it without, so obviously the lower the seat and your stature  makes it more of an issue.

Would it have been too low if you fitted it to the lower hole (obscured by the more textured part of the webbing)?

Yes I think that maybe too low but also didn’t know there was a lower hole, is that standard on all 4 door. If so I could hold it in that position to try before putting a hole in the trim, if it still is uncomfortable, but haven't driven yet with the new mounting position.
