Seat belt upper mounting
The factory position upper seatbelts mounting position on my 4 door is too high on the B pillar and puts the belt too close to your neck rather than shoulder.I have been searching sometime for a suitable solution. I found mgb brackets at MGOC Spares Ltd and fitted them making the position much better. I thought this maybe good info for anyone with similar issue. I don't have the seat riser blocks as prefer it without, so obviously the lower the seat and your stature
makes it more of an issue.

Regards Bill
Re: Seat belt upper mounting
Would it have been too low if you fitted it to the lower hole (obscured by the more textured part of the webbing)?

Yes I think that maybe too low but also didn’t know there was a lower hole, is that standard on all 4 door. If so I could hold it in that position to try before putting a hole in the trim, if it still is uncomfortable, but haven't driven yet with the new mounting position.

Re: Seat belt upper mounting
This is what I did in our 4 door. It doesn't look very neat as I haven't got round to covering the bracket in headlining material for the past 15 years!!!
It uses the existing mounting holes and I like it as it would not be able to swivel under high load as it could do with just the one mounting point.

Wes you can download the manual in pdf for free off internet, then you have the full manual, very useful.

Yes I except there maybe some swivel under high load but considering no air bag, no pretension, antisubmarine seat etc.liammonty wrote: ↑Mon Jul 21, 2025 9:50 am This is what I did in our 4 door. I think the movement would be minimal, if you look at the arc the bracket would move through. Also I prefer the neater look.

Look for it online and download. Several libraries have it.

Re: Seat belt upper mounting
I had to manually edit this to quote correctly.
I'm going to blame the quotes not working correctly for me not noticing your comment
