Front seat belts in a 1959 Traveller with working trafficators
Has anyone fitted front seat belts to a Traveller (ours is a 1959) which also has working trafficators as I assume the mounting points would be at about the same height and would interfere with the trafficators? Is it even possible to fit them? Is the 'B' pillar in earlier cars strong enough to support seat belt mountings and if so how would you go about it?

If you have a workshop manual, the Morris/BL one, AKD530 (not any other as far as I know), then the seat belt fitment details are in there...
It may only cover car which had the anchorages factory fitted, but it'll give you the layout details.

Thank you @geoberni. I've looked in my Workshop Manual (which is a Morris one and doesn't mention BL) but could find no mention of seat belts. I also tried the parts manual, but couldn't find anything in there either.
In the end I rang the mechanic and he wasn't sure if seat belts could be fitted to our car either but he will have a look and we will go from there. I'll let everyone know what happens.

In which case I'm assuming your workshop manual is a really early edition before seat belts were required....
Or you just haven't looked in Section R, The Body.
The Index for Section R is identified as Issue 5, so earlier than the final edition...

My copy is Issue 2 and only goes up to R.32 - Locating a new front end assembly.

Ahhh... Some years back there were some issues about providing links to downloads, but I think I can manage to suggest that a visit to the Library of the Oklahoma British Car Breakfast Club would help you.... It has several download of classic documents a few of which are relevant to Minors and their equipment

Thank you. That gives instructions for both later vehicles that have the anchorage points fitted and earlier vehicles that don't. I'm not sure what my body number is but I suspect body number 90769 is when they switched away from trafficators so I fall into the 'earlier' camp.
That's been really help - thank you.
