HIF 44 Assembly Question

Post by moggiegeek »

In photos below an HIF44 which has been refurbished. The question is whether the Throttle spindle lever is in the correct position. It seems to me to be in the wrong position for connecting the throttle cable if using the heat shield.
What do you think?

So should be rotated 180 degrees anticlockwise?

Looking at it I think cos of the "oblong" profile of the shaft it will only do 0 degrees and 180. I'll try and see.

Your shaft seems to be in the same position as mine...

Could be the wrong throttle quadrant ,,,unless they have a " square" cutout?

I was able to knock back the tab washer on the throttle shaft, remove bolt, rotate quadrant 90 degrees and it's a much better fit, aligning with the mini type throttle cable mounting on the heat shield.
Would you run it with the heated manifold connected?
