Control Box Terminals A & A1

I've stripped the old wiring on my dynamo positive earth system and the RG106 control box terminals A and A1 are connected together. Is this correct?

No it's not. Internally, they are connected via the Regulator Series Coil, so putting that link there has bypassed it..... See diagram.

I can't think what the effect would be, but it must be something....
