Heya guys
So sadly my copper vacuum pipe has snapped just at the bottom of the chamber. I've had a search and found the plastic one is a much cheaper option and works just as good but how would it connect to the distributer end? Will I have to cut the end of the copper pipe so the connection is still there and push the plastic pipe over it? Wouldn't that close the copper pipe up when cutting it though?
Any help would be much approximated also I don't really feel that it has made that much of a difference without it. Is that normal?

The lack of difference may be the vacuum advance is not working.
Not having the vacuum advance working does make a considerable difference to the way a Minor engine runs and performs.
Take the distributer cap off and suck on the vacuum advance - does it move the plate inside the distributer - it should - if not replace the vacuum advance unit. If replaced use a later advance unit with the push on connector.
If the original type vacuum advance unit is ok in that it moves the plate - just cut the pipe with a junior hacksaw leaving sufficient length to enable the pipe to be pushed on. To clean the inside bore of the pipe after cutting run a suitable small drill round (by hand) inside the pipe making sure that all swarfe/filings are removed before re-fitting.

Well I have a slight problem testing that
The pipe has sheered off right at the bottom of the fuel chamber I did try it when at the nationals though but not 100% it was working fully
Well the chamber down that the distributer is very wobbly and seems loose guessing it's not ment to be haha I have been tempted to get a 45d to upgrade.
She does run alright always felt she should run smoother though but do you think I should just upgrade and get a plastic pipe? Just to stop the headache

Do you mean that the pipe has sheared off where it fits into the carb or near the carb or at the vacuum advance chamber.
A photo would be appreciated.
If it has sheared off with sufficient length of metal vacuum advance pipe at either end - fitting the hard plastic vacuum advance will see you OK.

I personally get what you have right first before fitting a new 45 distributer.

Just get rid of the fuel condensate chamber and make up the shortfall with the hard plastic pipe and the two pipe connecters.
The later pipe connection did not have the fuel condensate chamber and they survived well without it.

Is the larger chamber at the distributer end ment to move and shape by the way?

Cut your losses and get a complete new 45D dizzy from Accuspark. Then you know it's all in good order and no gagging on a mouthful of stale petrol....

Well that's what I've been debating but may just see if it's working rather keep it if it's working but we shall see

Just checked my vacuum and it is working guess ill get the plastic pipe as the copper pipe is a bit of a mess

the plastic and rubber ends work just as well glad you fixed it .

Ywah I had a feeling they were just as good whilst doing my research though the mini guys said they break up though but from what the guy was saying about his problem when his at vacuum stopped working seems they reply on the vacuum. I've been driving mine for weeks now and not been any problems guessing all Moggys atoll edge like that.
But oh well new pipe has been bought and will be fitted.
