Is it possible to fit the later Metro manifold,3 into2 cast followed by 2into1 mild steel, onto a 1098. I seem to remember hearing that someone had done it, but was it to a 1275?

The head bolt arrangements are the same. I used my LCB on my 1098, and 1380 with no problems. So it should fit OK.

How did you go on with the mild steel bit. On the metro they come out at 90 deg. to the block but in our case they need to run alongside the block.
How did you do that bit.

Now you have confused me. The manifold bolts onto the side of the head.

You said that:

I was just pointing out that the manifold will bolt to the head. The engine size is immaterial as long as it's an A-series.

The Metro & Mini manifolds are designed to exit at the right of 'our' engine and not towards the rear (for a transverse installation). I was saying that you can bolt it to the head but after that I don't know. I know the Ital/Marina one works as the Brum Minor centre do a downpipe for it to fit the Minor.

Forget about the Metro manifold. Use the Minor one, or a Marina/Ital or an LCB manifold.
