Window

Post by poplars »

You know the front small triangular window.... if you see from my photo, the bottom bit where it sits in the door frame is all rusted, and I think due to that it won't open.. plus the latch has been snapped

Is it likely buying a new unit will solve the problem..... and are they readily available?[frame]Image[/frame]

its a quarter light.
the frame should be ok as its stainless steel
you can buy new window rubber seals.
but not the window.
yours looks like its the hinge and pin that are rusted.

this is one .but doesn't say 2or 4 door

Part No. VNT119A from ESM is the lower bearing kit to replace the rusted one on your quarterlight. :D

It can be done, I've just done a pair for mine. At least your frames are stanless. Mine are replacement frames so I did the job out of the car which is easier. Not sure if you can replace the bottom bush with the frame in the car anyway...posibly not :(
Glad to be back!

Car off to have an MOT just to see whats up with anything.

I suspect both from door will hav ego come off , as the bottom is rusted through, the side panels look crappy and need replacing (I suspect for the second time in the cars life) so I will have ago - and if I totally screw up I know there is a classic car place in town who I could prep them for and they could do the tricky work!

Just waiting for the call from the garage to tell me all the things wrong they might discover!!!
