Hi,
I want to put an HS4 carburettor on my minor I need to know which inlet manifold can I use with a minor exhaust manifold that has had the inlet manifold cut off.

That's the one - not the cheapest - but not the dearest either. Used to get them for £5 !!

I can get something like that here in the states, but it's almost $100. But by the time you do the currency conversion, shipping, etc., it might be about the same...

Both much of a muchness. Note they are for the larger 1.75" carb - but the HS4 will fit ok. Be sure to NOT get one like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-Metro-Mini ... 416a1bbc45 The Turbo manifold is specifically designed to generate turbulent flow and is useless on an aspirated engine.

Thanks for the ideas and help one thing I am worried about is the thickness of the inlet manifold and the exhaust manifold.when bolted to the engine. A friend had a lot of trouble as there was a different of about eight of an inch between the too.

You just file down the inlet manifold to match the exhaust.

i would say the opposite, you have no idea how much has been taken off the exhaust, given the cost of a replacement inlet compared to a replacement exhaust, i would start with the exhaust.

The inlet flanges are always thicker than the exhaust - in my limited experience. You can of course mess about with stepped washers - but it's easier just to do a couple of minutes filing.
