Ok i have potentially two annoying rattles:
One is the drivers door - the bottom curved hinge has worked loose from the gromit / rubber bit inside the door and is loose at the "body" end too - am i better taking the inner door panel out and refitting the rubber holder or is there a quicker fix?
Two is the bonnet catch cable, which appears to vibrate likea bugger against the brake servo which is fitted to the front right of the engine compartment - i guess it just needs tightening - but a quick look at ESM suggests 2 different spring options and at least one anti rattle joint - so does anyone know which is the right one? Obviously all i need to do is make the cable "tighter" so its not vibrating as much (and make sure there's a gromit where it comes through the bodywork into the car), but what are peoples thoughts on the best way?
i know these are really minor, but i want to get these sorted the most effective way rather than bodging them!

Re: Annoying rattles
Only two rattles ???????? Sure you are driving a Minor ? Tighten the door (but I don't get the rubber bit)?? And throw the servo away. Simples !
Bonnet on a standard Minor is released with a rod - not a cable ??

Re: Annoying rattles
good point! ok - 2 really big rattles!! I can cope with the others.
I'm going to go back and look at the bonnet - mine looked a little floppy for a rod (you can fill your own jokes in there!) but you're probably right - and i do think it is that that is rattling.

Re: Annoying rattles
The badges on the side of the bonnet can rattle if the fixings are not tight, as can the cross brace if the weld has broken.

Here is the spring for the bonnet release
http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... e457e3f56a
you may also need this if its not already on your release rod.

The other end of the spring fits into a wee hole at the top of the radiator support panel.
Do you mean that the check strap that stops the door blowing open to far is loose? The rubbers on it can break up so worth replacing these and you will need the door panel off to get at them.

Re: Annoying rattles
Now you can move on to the rattles that these were masking
