received the new loom yesterday, wire color coded, found diagram online. Question is. Do we start at the foward or aft? Or possible in the middle at control box and work out?

The difficult part is where it goes through the bulkhead.
Fit it there and then connect to control box and fuses, then do the dash wiring, the rest will be easy.

Lay it out on the floor so that you can identify the wires before you try fitting them. Check the bullet connectors as you go.
Keep the old loom, it is always useful for stripping spare bits of the correct colour wires
