Hi

Can anyone provide the dimensions of the dynamo 'guide' bracket please? Ray [of sunshine] says he can make one for me.

Mine has gone walkies while being in garages and engine being rebuilt etc.

Or if any one has one they wish to sell?

Many thanks.

HUT 894 is nearly back on the road!!! Huge appreciation to Ray and Mike.

Passed MOT yesterday. Ordered new fanbelt, need dynamo bracket, charge battery, top up with fuel....and off we go.

Running extremely well after engine rebuild. Even pulling away in first is improved.

Happy me

Mine is a flat strip version so you can maybe use the a-series one. Some have that fancy curved version. Is that the one you lost?

To cut a long story short, if somone can give me dimensions from block (mounting hole) to start and end of adjuster slot, I can make another.
Is that the one you lost?
To be honest it's very hard to know!
The engine was removed and stripped about 8 months ago at a garage in northants - then another engine fitted bought by Chrissie and fitted by same garage. The replacement engine was removed and returned to seller due to smoke (removed by me and Mike). Then original engine was collected from garage for DIY rebuild.

Therefore between the garage and 2 different DIYers there's not enough continuity to know what was on 2nd engine to start with and what should / shouldn't have been left on it, and what was lost / misplaced by Northants garage.

The most likely place to have started with 2 engines and finished up with 1.95 is the garage as they stripped engine but only handed over the engine without any extra bits :-? . They have not had good memories or records of what was and wasn't taken from original engine and put on 2nd (e.g. they said they changed flywheel from original to 2nd engine, but on MM engine it's not possible to get flywheel off without a fair bit off dissasembly, which they didn't do on 2nd engine.)
I'm not saying we didn't leave a few of the original bits on 2nd engine - but that has also changed hands again, so it's time to look forwards, not backwards!
