Welcome to the forum - look at MANY cars before deciding on one, and remember - RUST is the big enemy. Mechanical parts are all cheap and v easily repaired - but body/chassis rust underneath is the killer. Be sure to get a NEW MOT on any car you buy... Even if it has 6 months MOT - insist they take it for a new MOT as part of the deal. If you find a car you fancy - tell us about it - post up pictures - and perhaps someone from here will go along with you and advise you.

My first car is a Morris Minor, brilliant fun little cars to drive and simple to work on. My insurance is with footman james cost me just under £600 (and i'm on a provisional). there are some good cars that are pretty cheap so shop around.
