Problems with type9 installation

I have a friend (no its not a hypotectal one, even given my recent ideas) who currently has a 1098 mog with standard box/clutch/propshaft etc.

He has a 1275 engine which had the type 9 on it and a shortened propshaft. From memory he will need a new spigot bearing, he might as well get new clutch bits (but what does he need?), the transmission cover will need modifying, a new hole cut for the gearstick, and most importantly some way of operating the clutch

I assume the best way is a hydraulic clutch conversion, but can the lever sort be used too?

The only hydraulic clutch conversions I'm aware of USE the lever operated one anyway, so I imagine just keeping the rod operated version would be fine

The hydraulic method would be my choice. I'd also use the Ford clutch and release bearing which fits the Minor clutch arm. A return spring is also a good idea. In our experience of the B'ham conversion the clutch arm mounting needs a bit of tweeking to make it operate correctly, we have now decided to undertake a Saab style release bearing which will improve clutch actuation no end.
I'd also be tempted to ditch the rather weak B'ham cross member for a more substantial one ,as it allows too much flex in the gearbox setting up a bad vibration at around 60mph. We cured this by simply bolting up our K series cross member.

The gearbox cover is available in g/fibre , its not simply moving the hole for the lever, as the box is much higher and larger .
