Hello,

I've seen a 70ish moggy with a full length webasto sunroof. Was that a factory option at the time or is it likely to be a later addition?

How difficult would it be to find a replacement rag? Couldn't find one in the ESM catalogue.

For that I'd try webasto themselves in the first place.

I think (but do prove me wrong) that it was never a factory option, but MAY have been a dealership option. So it MIGHT have had it from its first registration until now.
I am thinking of fitting one to my Series II, as long as it comes with a garantuee that it is waterproof, and the treat the steel against rot.

What kind of Webasto roof is it?
Is it the sliding folding roof, with a wooden frame? That could be a period fitting. If the rag is still the original one, you may see a writing on the inside (between the outer layer and the interior layer) with a fitting date.

Any decent convertible top fitter should be able to fit a new rag. But when you do that, it might be possible some bad things (rust or rot) will become visible. A full recondition of the roof will be expensive.

The more modern ones have steel frames.
When fitting a modern one, be sure you get one with enough roof support. And the modern one have nice options as electric operated and better aerodynamics.
