would the number be transferable though, its not been registered since 86 so may have lost its number despite showing on DVLA's site. This happened to a customer with an old 100E.

Well this is it. I think it's pot luck, they reissued the V5's around that time so you may lose it or keep it. It went way past my budget now!

Providing that the new owner can prove absolutely that the number belonged to that car, and it hasn't already been re-issued to someone else, they can have it returned. I did that with my Armstrong Siddeley

PS Please could you put details of your car in the Members Cars area of the MM Register site so that we can all have a look?

I will have to dig it out of its resting place where it has been tucked away for the past 20 years awaiting my attention and get some pictures of it first!
It is a very patient car as it last saw the road in 1962 (or 68, i forget!)

Only 26k (or 28k) miles from new as welll!

WPR' your car looks lovely, real nice project. do you still have the front wings?
The Lowlight on the bay was sadly to rich for me I could only do £950 on it! It'll be back up for sale soon(hopefully) without the plate no doubt. maybe then I can buy it

Thanks mate!
Yes, i do still have the front wings although they are worse than rough to say the least. Repairable though with a bit of time and patience. I have added a picture of them, must have skipped past it when i uploaded them!

Just for interest, it is still on the DVLA records. An online vehicle enquiry revealed:
The enquiry is complete
The vehicle details for JOM 97 are:
Date of Liability 01 11 1986
Date of First Registration 04 04 1949
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 948CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GREEN
Vehicle Type Approval null
The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry.
So as suggested, it may well reappear with a nasty age related plate before too long...

Looks very nice - quite a find that one. Was it supplied by Stewart and Arden, London by chance? Only asking as mine, which has an MM number was, though by October 49 chassis numbers were in the 27k region...

There is no dealer recorded on the Heritage certificate and no supplier badges that i can see inside the car, so i couldn't say for sure!

I'm going to say it again, sorry, but I do love original cars. Please don't "
restore" it
