I think that's the problem - folks payed extra for 'kevlar' - and they seem to be worse than useless. What's to say 'silicon' won't be the same ? My hoses are original - many years old - and look fine! What's wrong with good old ordinary rubber??

My hoses are black and look fine in the engine bay, didn't want blue. So far so good, will see how they are after the next show season.

I can find the details of the seller if anyone is interested.

The original ones seem to be quite rare. I have been trawling ebay for ages and haven't seen any.

The Silicon ones are much longer lasting that the Kevlar ones I am sure Jonathon can give more accurate info.
There is nothing wrong with the original rubber type apart (its what I use as well) from the fact they haven't been available for many years.

I'm sure we all hope the 'silicon' ones last longer -But I'm also sure folks expected the famous 'Kevlar' ones to last longer too! Only time will tell. So - what hoses are fitted to modern cars ? I'm sure not 'silicon' - so presume they are made of (gasp) rubber!

A lot depends on fitting decent Jubillee clips and not the original bits of bent wire which bite into the hoses
