If the gods are good to me this weekend I will have a 1330 installed to give a bit more go to my show.

I prefer subtle mods ... 1275 and 5 speed box, just because my car is a daily driver and last year it was an 80 mile round trip to work and back, and it was more comfortable keeping up with, or passing mr and mrs euro box. If I had the money there would be a standard lowlight sat in the garage for sundays only

Interesting poll and current results ............

I remember when I started out with Minors there was so much resistance to us putting in 1275 Midget engines, fitting Marina discs and tele dampers!

Valid point John especially when you consider that they have been modified, raced etc from their introduction.

I like both but for me standard looking with nicely modded running gear has to be the cats pyjamas.

10 days old and only 47 votes that is poor going
come on there is more than 47 people using this forum
and they either have a standard minor or a modified one
so we should have more votes cast than this

:-?

Most forums have non posters - I can't understand why. Folk join, then don't even have the courtesy to say hello - why bother?.
Our bike forum has a policy that you must post within 2 weeks of joining, otherwise they get deleted - perhaps this should happen here.

i vote modified but i do admit standard cars are easier to build!

I have four morrys:
~first is a 63 minor 1000 4 door. Standard but it has an alternator and mags. Did have a big stereo in it but thats migrated to my peugeot.

~Second is a 65 flatdeck ute project, it has a datsun 1200 engine, marina van disc brakes, VH44 booster, toyota starlet rear axle, brake reservoir kit and telescopic shocks around (air shocks on the back). just gotta finish the paint work and get the interior done

~Third is actually dads but im doing much of the work on it. Its a 62 4-door. Its got a datsun 1500cc engine which has had head work, has twin 40mm dellortos and a full exhuast upgrade. Diff is currently datsun 120y but it will get a datsun sunny diff at some stage as they are stronger and have a longer ratio. Boosted marina discs up font. i will be putting telescopic shocks at the front and back. Im sure it will have more mods than that before its finished.

~fourth doesnt really count, its a 59 4-door that was given to me, its in excellent body condition and since it was given to me i dont want to sell it. It will get done eventually but its rather low on the list of things to do.

Ill be able to take the hot 4-door for a drive tomorrow (fingers crossed) so ill chuck up a vid of it in action. Hopefully you can see the car through the tyre smoke!

I'm in favour of modified as this has always been my preferred route to my ideal car.I tried to keep my traveller standard but had too many narrow escapes with foreign trucks.I like the standard look though. My traveller is in this month's Minor Monthly to prove the point.(Wicked Woody).

You've seen my local classic car club forum then  . Seriously, I am not surprised but they decided to start a forum for which we were not ready.

We had a few oddball types sign up (They have been removed) early on but that seemed to dry up. The thing about the Internet is that wheras in everyday life you may not come into contact with weirdos, online they can find us all - just think of all the spam that is going round  .

Well I dont think that's too bad when you consider that there are only around 100 regular posters and it is the holiday season 8)
