'Swhy I didn't comment - or report it. Just curious as to why it being usable for exporting to the US makes it OK, and why that's worthy of comment. Sorry.

I'm not saying that it is OK to use it for USA export - just advising that's what old Mini V5s are used for! I'm sure there is also an element of Road Tax avoidance too in the UK! The Mini I had until recently had a new bodyshell and an old Registration. The only 'old' part about the car was the speedo, and of course the driver!
