"A 1.8 Litre Twin cam Turbo charged K series"

With that I could be persuaded to NOT keep mine original

Come on Jonathan do tell what are you going to do with it - apart from drool over over it.

No, I just keep buying utter crud. Seems no matter what the test drive is like, I'll get the one that under the skin is a total shed. Still, the end of the market I buy from (I've never paid more than 450 quid for a car) it's all down to luck, and that's something I don't have an abundance of.Onne wrote:all right, so I am spoilt
These people perhaps? http://www.linconbatteries.co.uk/home.htmlHe tells me that the previous owner bought it new a few months ago from a firm called Lincon ( or Lincoln) batteries. Anybody heard of them?
I'm on my 2nd Lincon Battery. The company is only about a 10 minute drive from me. They will build you a bespoke battery if you require it. I bought, and am currently using their model '291'. This is a Hard Rubber cased 60 hour battery with 11 plates per cell and an open bar top. It is very heavy! The dimensions in inches are: Length 9.9, Width 6.5 and Height 8.8. For my first battery they reversed the terminals for me at no extra cost because I was then using Positive Earth. I paid £56.29 for it in October 2004. Perhaps the only drawback might be that they only give a 12 month guarantee, but I had my previous one for 4 years before I replaced it. They can be ordered through my local car spares place so I presume they can be ordered anywhere. The battery fits nicely in the tray and looks vey imposing!I can't remember the supplier but I've seen one in a Minor and the owner said it was about the same price as a normal battery!
I was very jealous!
