In reference to mt previous message `brakes` i have been informed to find out more about mechanics,and rightly so! does anyone know of any basic courses in east mids?

pop down your local newsagent - they're usually favourite for a free local college prospectus. Unless of course, the local college is closer!
or put your local college name in google and see if it's got an online prospectus...

I Must admit thats how I started 18 Years ago.

Both Me and my dad went and learned loads .It kept my Triumph Herald going longer than I would have on my own.

Most local colleges do good evening courses, or you can do what I did as a student and ask the breakdown man just what he's doing :-?

I find the most usefull phrase when i'm working on my car is "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD, ***** isnt working what do i do?"

Lucky you - my father doesn't know the difference between a brake drum and a cheese and onion pasty... :)

Back in my fathers younger days (Just after the invention of the wheel) he used to restore minis to substitute his income. So he comes in handy when something car related goes wrong. On a side note if anybody is interested in hiring a Linux web admin then he is looking for a job atm.

He wouidn't know the difference between a clutch disc and a pancake either - hope it's not hereditary... :D
