Which jet, and where from (and it doesn't *mutter* fit)

Post by Pyoor_Kate »

So...

Does anyone have any idea which jet might be at least roughly appropriate for a 1275 ital running with a standard 1098's carb?

And how much damage am I likely to be doing, I'm presuming she's going to be running very, very lean...

At the moment Rebecca's running with the choke permanently a bit out, but is desparately breathless. Why haven't I changed to the bigger carb, given that I've got one? See my diary if you want to know, but it's a bit long... http://pyoor.org/wordpress

Ahem - sorry about that! Anyone want a log manifold that doesn't fit? Free to a good (or bad, or indifferent home)...

Hello Kate,
the jet is always the same, it is the needle that you probably need to change. I can't recommend one myself but give this programme a go, it allows you to enter the engine specification and then it suggests a suitable needle. : www.winsu.co.uk
For replacement needles then www.burlen.co.uk By the way their manual on S.U.'s is invaluable, if slightly pricey.

Ta...

Oooh, okay, suggests an ABY needle.

I wonder if millards do them... :-)

The 1098 needle should not be too far away - the carb has no idea anything has changed, it just sees air going through, and so start off by adjusting the idle mix correctly and the see how it goes.
