OIL Strainer

Post by martylemoo »

Hi,
Has anyone ever attempted to replace the mesh part of the sieve type oil strainer? I tried to buy one but it seems they are not available new and second hand ones seem to be in the same state as mine eg a hole in the bottom!!! I was just wondering before i remove the sump again if it is possible.
Cheers
Martyn

I've never seen one with a hole in it (other than the intended holes)- so I reckon a second hand one would be the best way to go, as there must be a fair few out there without holes.

You would need to solder a new bit of mesh over the hole - never tried it - not good with soldering !!
