You can get an exchange 1098 flywheel thats been modified, or alter your own, then it can be used.

1275 crank has 6 bolt holes and the 1098 has 4.

Here is a piccy of my modified 1098 flywheel:

You can see how it's been modified from 4 to 6 holes quite clearly in that picture.

Yes, and here is a piccy of the centre bush in situ:

The phosphor-bronze bush comes with the steel housing and presses into the centre of the flywheel.

Out of complete ignorance, why did you put a 1098 f/wheel on a 1275? Weight or something?

You choose the flywheel depending on what clutch you are going to fit.

Dumb question time. What's the purpose of the phosy-bronze bush?

It holds the gearbox input shaft centred in the middle of the flywheel.

In my case i used the 1098cc flywheel instead of the midget one as its smaller and the clutch can be very snatchy in a Moggie so a larger Minor clutch is preferable, its also worthwile replacing the bush as they are very often worn and should be replaced whenever a clutch is replaced if there is any play as a worn one will put extra forces on the gearbox and the bushes are only a couple of quid.

Cam I assume looking at your picture you used locktight on the flywheel bolts instead of a tab washer the same as I did.
Cheers

Kevin, I used threadlock instead of the tabwashers.

In my case it's because I have a 1098 flywheel and I don't have a 1275 one ! I thought they were 6 bolt - thanks for the answers !
