Re: 1957 minor
The semaphores were deleted in 1961, according to Wikipedia. I can only assume that either a previous owner has blanked them off and filled them in, as they did on an early 1961 Convertible I owned, or that it is an export model where semaphores weren't allowed by law.

My 1961 convertible had trafficators.
(Google's spell checker wanted to change trafficators to fornicators. I kid you not.

That reminds me, Chris, where's your mate, the one who's helping you with the lbm research!! He must be knee deep in it, not being here lately

Re: 1957 minor
Hi Mollymooz, if you take off the inside covers on the B post you will see two captive studs and a slot where they were fitted. Its possible that they are still fitted inside. Mine were, allthough tha outer slot had been filled.
To be honest,I have still got mine filled(Been thinking of reinstating them) I'm sure its better to prevent water getting into the slots, which it must do,because the bottom of the door post was left open(Well on the four door it is),by Morris,I suppose to let it run out.
I still can't decide ,because of the above and that I have fitted seat belts, and being a four door, the only place the upper mounts can go is on the door post, and to increase the security I fitted steel plates down inside the Post to spread any load. I would need to take this plate out to refit. The plate would then need to be fitted on the outside held only by the small studs that also hold the trafficator. In the event of a crash these would simply rip out of the door post,so not very secure,it's not that strong(Door post is thinnish) anyway. Not a problem in a two door of course.
I was informed that some years ago you could buy clip in covers for these slots, any one seen them.??

Opportunity for someone else to fill the gap? Must be someone on here with an overactive imagination

No it's not a shameless puff unlike you
It's a honest question this is why I stopped coming on for a while
The thing is I've not pushed to sell my cars as these two where in fact my wife's grandparents from Ireland so I'm going to restore these the best I can it just sent odd with the semephores

Re: 1957 minor
If they're Irish Minor's the trafficators might be on the inside?

Re: 1957 minor
Surely the more information you can gather...the clearer it will be?? I think we should be told.... Could be every bit as important as 'trafficators' or indeed 'indercaters'

Re: 1957 minor
As I've said before, most reliable info comes from vehicles themselves, ie
might have 167999 recorded at BMIHT, but the number taken FROM that
car is 176099 - therefore a body number range BASED on BMIHT info will
be duff
Yes, collect as many number combo's as poss - only thing I can do atm.
