Re: oil light
There have been quite a few reports of these faulty alternators from this supplier... Seems ridiculous that they expect the customers to be the Quality Control team... Surely they should be testing them before sending out ? Although I do wonder if some of the 'faults' are not down to faulty installation by the buyers.....

Re: oil light
I got mine off ebay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171475641019? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Had a few bits and pieces off them and absolutely no complaints

Re: oil light
Can I just say that ESM couldn't have been more helpful with the alternator problem
as for them checking every kit surely it would be the QC dept at the manufacturer that supplied ESM that would be at fault
for allowing the item through ?

Re: oil light
Indeed - but they are sending out faulty alternators - and then having all the hassle of getting them back - sending out replacements... It's hardly 'good' customer service. they should be sending their whole stock back and finding a new supplier! But as long as you are now happy.... What volts do you get now with engine revving and headlights + heater fan running ?

Re: oil light
Well I don't think many of the aftermarket reconer do this.I was talking to my usual motor factor the other day and he tells me that NON of the batteries he sells are tested before he gets them, the suppliers policy,is just sell them if they fail they automatically replace without any query. So the customer is the QC.He says he has a failure rate of about 10%. But says if you want to pay three times as much, he could sell you a main brand which may or may not have been tested.stuupnorth wrote: surely it would be the QC dept at the manufacturer that supplied ESM that would be at fault
