Oh, you have a 19yr old blonde wife too?

I'm confused....

Can we travel to Greece in Les' great grandmothers' bed?

FFS!

What nonsense! If you want to remain anonymous drive a Eurobox, if you are doing something illegal or immoral don't do it in a Minor. What possible reason could you have for not wanting your car appear on this forum?

Absolutely!

The fact remains it is absolutely not an infringement of privacy to have your car photographed in a public place, the photographer has no onus to ask permission, and with an open and free Internet they can post it where they like. Some people on this forum are showing their age here!

The only time I think it's a little questionable is if someone were to take a photo, and try and sell it, without the car owner's permission. Still; if taken in a public place, perfectly legal.

Spotted threads are commonplace on motoring forums, and I think they're quite nice. If there was a forum for blondes, there'd probably be a spotted thread there too. Welcome to the 21C.

You're just jealous that no one is selling pictures taken of YOUR Minor in a picturesque location!
Perhaps I should sue? ;)

I sold a photo of your car last week titled "Proof You Can Polish A Turd."

Oh puuuuleeez! We are talking about a photo of a classic car being posted on a classic car website. Cars don't have rights of privacy. It is legal, it is good and it is what I do. Live with it.

There is possibly a case for a requirement to obscure the registration number of any car photographed...? Not that I harbour any concerns myself, one can imagine an almighty row breaking out somewhere when someone sees a picture of their partner's car outside "that house" or "that blonde" in the passenger seat. Maybe pixellate occupants' faces too...??

many many years ago my late father was tinkering with his
old motorbike a rudge ulster.
when 2 young bikers call in and admired his bike...
they asked to take a photo..which my dad agreed.
they seemed nice guys
about 3 days later. at night someone tried to break into his garage....

well my dad being a shooting man soon scared them off
one shotgun in hand he fired one off and they moved quicker
than the dog we had
so if people take photos it could be for the love of the car..
or bike etc
or to clone it nick it ,,
or parts off it
Isn't this why we are encouraged not to give out too many details about our location?
I have no issue with being photographed out and about. As said previously this seems to be the way of the modern world. I am just not so sure about showing a picture of a car on someones property with details of where this is.....
Now I must go and photo my wheelie bin. :)

Talking of wheelie bins, I'd better check with the council, to make sure they're ok with me posting a picture of their bin. Naughty me, how disrespectful, especially as I've been levelling that sentiment at others. However I did remove it's number plate! :D

A few points to add:-

1. some of us are younger than others so my blond wife is very fitting for me and she doesnt want to be photographed!
2. im not really into wheelie bins...
3. I started this thread with the intention of seeing if others thought I had a valued point regarding our cars, front doors, door numbers and personal space been invaded. So lets just try and keep from comments about my wife and stick to subject.
So just a reminder do you think its right to have someone follow you around and then take a photo of you, your car and your family and post it on the net without even asking if you would mind? I think a few people have already mentioned that they really dont want there reg number posted and exposed to the world.

What do you think?

Kind regards

Yet it is fine for everyone who walks past where you park the car and see you driving to see the numberplate, maybe you should drive round in the public demain with it covered up and then it can not find it way anywhere (apart from a police crusher).

So any car that is going in the same direction as you is an issue? Are onboard cameras an issue which are used to protect your property and no doubt speed cameras are also then an issue. And why does it matter that you, your family and your car are being pictured without consent whilst being in a public place and the pictures being put online whilst the whole time you are being watched by CCTV and lord knows where that ends up! So personally I would be more concerned of any CCTV cameras watching me rather than photographers stalking my car especially as I have never being asked if I want to be watched by CCTV.

Bit like counting sheep this thread Zzzzz Zzzzzz

As long as Rolf Harris doesn't follow you with a sketchpad, I suppose
there isn't much you can do about it tbh.

Well the way I see it is.....

The reg number of ALL vehicles is DISPLAYED on them (has to be by law & checked for clarity & security on MoT) to identify it for administrative & legal purposes. If someone bumped into you and just drove of etc,
So many thousands of people look at your car and reg number every day whilst driving around.

Whilst Iv'e been out n about in my van Iv'e noticed loads of people taking pictures. never seen it on spotted today though
