Hi,
They weren't bad vans, I had one whilst on BT which started off yellow too, before being repainted in the new colour scheme of grey.
BT was never the same after that and then they swapped over to Ford and I was given an Escort
(van that is!! )......
Anyway looks like yours is ex-BT too.
You know you just want to repaint it back to yellow and put the (blue stick on) British Telecom logo back on the side.....
.... along with 'Make someone happy' adverts.................
Good luck with it. Many will think that it's not a classic but I suspect that so few will survive that it will be in the future.
Happy memories for me.....................
Best wishes,
Mike.
1954 Series 2: 4 door: "Sally" -- Back on the ground with (slave) wheels, now being sprayed by me, slowly......
1970 Triumph Herald 1200: "Hetty" -- Driven back from Llangollen in Wales (twice.....)
1952 Morris Minor MM highlight with sidevalve engine still fitted, wants work, so joins the queue for now......

My exRM Astramax is the ONLY 365D left on the road.

Quite rare.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Good, to hear you have happy memories !I wonder how many Ex BT, Bedford, HA's survive,in comparison
with the Maestro's ? Fair play to BT,Post office Telephones,Royal Mail etc for always buying British. Sadly,I spotted an Open Reach van,the other day, with a Fiat badge ! Always good to see POMM REG's Astra Max at MMOC National. Park it next to my Maestro at Kelmarsh. :) UXH,will also be there. :) A right good weekend ![frame]Image[/frame]

Now back on the road, with a full 12 months ticket. If anyone sees any scrap Maestro van's,please let me know.
Now is the time to collect as much as I can,to keep this one on the road. All thoughts to SLM now, which will be at the "Classic van and Pick up" (in cab form only) event. Takes place at Gaydon on the 10th of August 2014. A, non, one Marque, Classic vehicle event, Ford Transits,Ford Escorts, Simca van's,Minor LCV's,Anglia Van's, Marina van's,all manner of British light commercials built. Sponsored by Keksey Publishing,it looks to be a great weekend, with many clubs attending. But, first, the Kelmarsh MMOC National looms, with all our lovely Minors.

A friend of mine had one from new and it started to fall from day one and the main dealers were complete cowboys and when he went to get some oil for it they gave the wrong sort and they said they used to put any old oil in them when they came in for a service.

Which goes to underline the value of doing your own servicing...............
................and your not paying someone else's labour fees!!........

Good, to hear you have happy memories !I wonder how many Ex BT, Bedford, HA's survive,in comparison
As an aside, I also drove a Bedford HA whilst on BT, though by that time they were in their last months of service......
Nice little vans I thought.

I'd expect so. (Just got a Maestro saloon in for a back wheel arch/sill end rebuild. Nice that folk are saving these now too).
I'd need to see an inner arch photo or in real life to see what the ribbed pressings look like to see if I could do it on my kit.
cheers
