Bore size

Post by fillpoke »

I took the head off my 1098cc engine today to see if the block had been rebored. I expected to see std, +10, +20 etc stamped on the piston crown. However it has nothing like this which would indicate if the engine had been rebored. Has anybody any ideas? I'll attach a pic of the piston crown.[frame]Image[/frame]

I would take it as standard, to double check you would have to measure the bore with an internal micrometer.

2nd vote for that - no marking = std bore.

Agree with the above.
See Minor wksp manual section AAA4 for details.
The number 3 stamped on the piston is the grading number as pistons are graded as to their fit in the bore.

Many thanks for your replies. I had guessed that in the absence of any marking it was probably standard. But it was only a guess. Now I know for sure. Cheers.
