Heater

Does any one recognise this Smiths heater installed in a 58 Traveller.
It's not mine but the owner of the car wants to have some information of the heater.
You can turn the whole thing and you can open ,or close the two flaps .One of the flaps is open in this picture.

It's just that - a Smiths heater recirculating air (ie no fresh air!) -probably aftermarket fitted.

Yes ,I think so too they even cut the parcelshelf for it but I was wondering if this unit came from a particular car.( type)

I had one that looked very similar in a 1960 Landrover...

Think Smiths just sold them as retro fit heaters! Many cars in these days had NO heater.

It must be the reason ,it's not connected to "screen warmers" etc just simply connect the water connections and there you go.

That type of heater is on the Nash Metropolitans. And most of its parts came from Austin

My 1963 GPO driving instructors van had one, it was mounted centrally in the usual place. Bxxxxx good heater, close the flap on the passenger side and roast your legs.
Where is the switch, ordinary heaters have a rheostat switch in the middle

I've also seen Land Rovers fitted with this type.
