Torsion bar
Hi all, new to here but have a question about the torsion bar on my Traveller 1000. I have stripped it out to clean and repaint but the rear end was not what I expected. Could it be an uprated bar or from another car/van? The pic below is the bit that connects to the rear crossmember. Thanks for any help. [frame]

Re: Torsion bar
Welcome to the forum! Where are you based?
Looks like you have a Marina torsion bar, with the conversion bit for the crossmember end. They are slightly stiffer than a standard Minor one. We have the same kit using Marina van torsion bars.
What else is not standard Minor about your Traveller? What engine, gearbox, brakes for example?

Re: Torsion bar
Hi, I am in Cornwall. The traveller is sitting on minilites and has dics on the front.
Thanks for the info on the torsion bar, I first thought someone had cut through it to get it off!

Re: Torsion bar
Do I still use the 14.3cm to set it up?

Re: Torsion bar
That depends on what height you want suspension to sit at.
The adjustment is slightly different with the Marina bars - with the standard Minor torsion bar, 1 spline movement gives 1.25" height change, and each of the holes in the adjuster bracket on the crossmember gives 0.25" and there are 5 holes.
The Marina bar gives around 1.5" for a spline movement, and still 0.25" for a hole change at the crossmember end.
