Hi, I'm having big problems trying to remove the brake cylinders, the bolts wont move and the brake pipe nut mounted to chassis wont move either,
Any ideas before I reach for the extra large club hammer
Take care - VERY easy to break off the tab that secures the flexi pipe to the body......use two spanners - one to hold the flexi and the other to slacken the locking nut.
If it's the cylinder you want to remove and not the flexi hose, you can loosen the flexi on the back of the cylinder then feed it through the backplate and unscrew the cylinder.
Replacement is the reverse of removal
"Once you break something you will see how it was put together"
Thanks for all your advise on my questions, but I have to sell the car as I have not cot the cash for the welding work, the car was a project and the project has to come to an end.
Hmmm - that's too bad. How much welding - and where? Can you not do the welding yourself? There may be someone nearby willing to help.....you won't know unless you ask!
oh i have asked and they are too expensive. thought i cound get the welding done for under 1,000 but not interested, the work is the seals, chassis legs, and the normal paces where they go. well atleast we stil have our 67 saloon to finish so things arnt that bad., will post some pictures soon.
