BMC Competions Dept support vehicles

Did BMC ever use moggy vans as support vehicles for the competition dept.

If yes has any one any info eg body colour livery etc?
Are tgere any photos out there?

I doubt it! They needed something FAST! Westminsters were used in early days - and then 1800 'Landcrab' with much modified engines.......

I have been looking through all my books history etc and as BMC says no Morris vans :(

Apparently in the early days a Standard Atlas van was used :o BMC may know more about this

Those who follow 'Chasing Classic Cars' on Discovery will recognise this US support vehicle for BMC dealers/mechanics and competitions. Might give some clues as to what BMC were up to in the '60's and 70's - in the US at least :lol:

Well spotted Bruce :D brilliant video and a short glimpse of the Ecurrie Ecosse transporter. I think thats what i thought was an Atlas as you cant see much of it in the picture as all the drivers are around it.

yep sorry 'bout that - Interesting vehicle though and in amazingly good condition too. The sound of the engine takes me back to school buses in the late 70's! :D
