Ignition switch wiring

Post by Buzby58 »

Hope someone can help me out as my google mojo has failed

I have a Lucas 4 pole ignition switch - turn to right to start and run, turn to left for aux power.

Looking at the back the terminals are numbered 1 to 4, number 3 being a single spade and the others double.

I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me which connects to what as I'm rapidly running out of fuses!

Thanks in advance

Strange switch! In which position can you withdraw the key? Has it a spring loaded position for the starter?

Try the following - Minor 1000 switch
T1 - white/red - starter solenoid
T2 - white - ignition light
T3 - brown/blue - control box TA1

Alternatively
T1 - brown - starter solenoid junction box - alternator/dynamo (control box?)
T2 - white - fuse
T3 - white/red - starter solenoid
T4 - light green/white - radio (accessory)
Austin Maxi 1972. NB it was fitted with a pre engaged starter and no control box which may effect the wiring
