My speedo has 1376 as its TPM also. Standard everything including wheels and it's spot on with the sat nav... all the way up to 90mph

SPEEDO FIXED!!!!!!
It was an issue with the unit itself, it transpired.
I stripped it down completely - and between the plate which spins with the gearbox cable and the one in which the current is induced, and is attached to the needle - there was an amount of grease and oil which had made its way in from the cable i think.
this was causing an amount of magnetic shielding, and then binding and gripping - thus the needle would jump.
A complete strip down of the mechanism, a good clean up and the smallest smear of machine oil and it's sorted
I'm a very happy man!
