i'm currently running an 803 box and i've been troubled lately. if i drive over 40mph, i get rumbling noise and lots of vibration from around my drivers seat area...... under the car. i'm guessing it's the gearbox rubbers.. it's not confirmed, but i can't see what else it is. i recently replaced the engine mounts and never had the problem beforehand. i've checked the mounts and they are fitted tightly and correct. the old mounts must have taken some vibrations up and now the engine is stiffer, the vibrations have moved backwards at a guess.
on the 803 box, there is a D shaped rubber mounting at the rear, i'm told. if this is my problem, is it an easy change? meaning can i remove the prop and change the rubber with the gearbox in the car? are there any other gearbox mounts and does anyone have a picture as i can't find one.
is it possible that the prop is out of balance?
i've ruled out the wheels as the steering is fine at speed and slowly.
i'm at my wits end now
