I'm still being held at the signal. Tried logging off and on again - no different. Hmm - maybe will shut down and re-start computer. very strange.

I did not think this topic would get out of control but...
The master cylinder is back in with reversed bolts and jam nuts (about half the thickness of a standard nut). I drive about 32,000 miles per year but I think the minor will only go about 3,000miles per year so we will keep an eye on the torsion bars and keep you posted.

The master cylinder is back in with reversed bolts and jam nuts (about half the thickness of a standard nut).
With thin nuts I bet you'll be fine. Well done for getting it fixed.

As for the mileage - most people over here end up driving more miles in the Minor if they get a choice, but that's because there other cars are MG's or Triumphs...
I'm not sure what it'd be like driving a Minor in the US, but I expect it would be less stressful than here (town's and cities here are rather like racetracks)
