Quick V5 question

Post by Morris_and_Gromit »

Is the date of first registration meant to be the same as the V5 registration document issue date?

The date of first registration is the date the vehicle was first ever taxed for the public road .i.e. 13.7.62 as in the case of my Traveller.

the dvla are very very professional at charging people money but they cannot even get a date correct or a description or even a chassis or body number correct.
I own a 1974 MG Midget 1275 in Teal Blue "Midget" is what we call him and he is in very good to excellant condition "midget" is a Chrome bumper/Round Wheel arch model.

Don't start me off on the DVLA - My Traveller reg doc says its a 1098. It is and always has been a 948 but yet they refuse to correct their error until I get the car professionally inspected to prove its a 948 !!!!

Yes, we have certain people around the country who are accepted by DVLA and the insurance companies who inspect cars i.e. when there's a question after a rebuild as to which car donated the most parts which registration plate the car carries or whether is requires a Q plate. These same people can help a member with an agreed valuation certificate for insurance purposes. They would easily spot a 948 from a 1098 :D
