69 Traveller Slow Restoration.

I finally got down to taking off some more bits on my Traveller. I'd already taken out the interior and seen how bad the floor were so now it was the turn of the kickplates. At the moment I think I'm looking at having to replace basically everything underneath - both chassis legs, front cross member, centre crossmember, both front floor and probably some or all of the rear floors, both sills and the gear box member too and possibly one tie plate. So lots to do. Below you'll find some photos of progress or of rust so far.



My shed with the Traveller in the middle and 62 Saloon on the right. Its a bit dusty and a nest of swallows have left their mark, hence the covers.




My car. Looks nice on top (sort of) but a horror underneath (as usual).




Right had kick plate removed to reveal a rather and expected rotton sill and lots of rust flakes.




A small hole in the door post. Repairable ????




Rotten rear floors and spring hanger.




Rotten front floor and massively rotten centre cross member.




One of two large holes in the right hand chassis leg.

More rust this time I think the gearbox member needs to be replaced. It doesn't look too good.




On the plus side I did find the chassis plate (???) on the left hand side tie plate with is good. Mean anything to anybody ?




I think the bottom of the drivers door may have been repaired at some point. At least I presume it has looking at this ?




Does anyone know what this is ???? This is one of two odd looking things stuck to the inside of the drivers door and sort of looks like sealer but why ? Has the door been patched too ????




The wood on the car is pretty ok but I did have to replace the rear doors. Is this door gap at the top of the door when closed too big ?? Its the best fit I could manage. (No door sealer has been fitted yet by the way).

Does anyone know what this is ?

It looks like the bloke spraying sound deadening gloop was having a bad day or needed a refill.
I'd say this was original and went through the body shop at about 4.50pm on a Friday.
The plate on the engine bay floor says something about Nuffield and where the body was built. There is a recent thread about it.

A large hole is one you can get your hand into, have you seen some of the scary rot pictures on this site?

The number on the left side of the plate should match the tag on the top right of the bulkhead (as you look from the front)....
