How does one remove the bumpers and aprons?

Am looking at buying a 1957 Morris Minor convertible that is about 900 kms away, I can borrow an enclosed trailer to haul it with but I think the car is longer than the inside length of the trailer which is 141 inches.
I'm not familiar with Morris's so would like to know how to remove the bumpers and aprons and if I do what will the overall length of the car be then.
Also, what is the width of the car?

two large nuts behind bumper on a shaft that goes into the body but they will be rusted solid unless they have been off recently,then bumper and apron lift off as a unit

A 948 / 1098cc Minor is 12.5 foot long (149.5 inches) and 5 foot wide (60 inches).

The removal of the bumpers will reduce the length minimally unless you also remove the bumper bars which are attached to the body. This might not be an easy job if rust is present. Even then it will be a tight fit to get a Minor in a trailer 141 inches long. I think you need a bigger trailer!

Welcome to the Forum! Since you mention Kms - guessing you are not UK based. You can add a 'location' in your profile - there may be Minor enthusiasts nearby! Maybe you can leave the back door of the trailer slightly open slightly ?

Thanks for the replies. I going to have to try and locate someone with a longer trailer that I can borrow as it's too expensive to rent one.
bmcecosse mentioned Kms, I live in western Canada and can talk either Kms or miles whichever you prefer. I thought the UK was all metric?

Well, its largely metric (and according to the EU everything should be....)

We still measure distances in miles though, and a large proportion of the population think in imperial....
