amazing race! Massa will be hard to beat next year, Hamilton just about shaded it though for the season, but the race was all Massa. Unbelievable!

Brilliant result - it's gonna be a while before my heart rate returns to normal!

More rule changes than in the last 20 years for next year's season, so it's a lottery as far as the cars are concerned IMO ........ :D

I *think* it was because Glock, being on dry tyres couldn't maintain the pace.

However I do find it a little unfeasible that he lost 18secs in the lap, so unless he did a 360 he may have just wanted Hamilton to win, rather than massa!

Given that the FIA did everything in their power to give Ferrari a win, with absolutely ridiculous penalties in previous races, todays result was priceless. Watching those Ferrari mechanics jumping up and down, only to see them burst into tears when they realised Lewis had passed Glock, that was priceless.

Brazilian crowd were a disgrace, so all in all a brilliant day for F1. Plus coverage goes back to BBC next year, so no more adverts during the race.

Well done Lewis...

Yes indeed.... How UNfair have the FIA been to Lewis and the team this year ????

The Massa team faces were absolutely priceless!! Pays Massa back for the last but one race when he obviously rammed into Hamilton - and got away with it. Glock was going v slowly on his dry tyres - a bold move - but McLaren knew Hamilton would catch Glock on that lap from watching the GPS feedback and laptimes - that's why they told him to let Vettel go by rather than get tangled in a crash with him. However - I think if Hamilton had stayed on his dry tyres - he would have won the race and the championship! Of course - he might have spun off and lost everything! Just hope the Scruts don't find some tiny detail wrong with Hamilton's car - you can bet they are going over it with the finest of toothcombs to try to find something!! He had great trouble putting the steering wheel on when he parked the car - and actually walked away leaving it off which would have disqualified him. Fortunately a marshal 'encouraged' him to have another go at fitting it - and he did get it on finally. Such a small detail could have lost him the Championship!

I think we should also mention DC who ran his final race (first corner) today. One to be missed in future years.....

Well - the folks he kept crashing with certainly won't 'miss' him! More accidents than most this year certainly! He's only been playing at it for the past few years - dunno why the teams put up with that (Button and Barricello also) instead of letting fresh young talent have a go!

Adverts aside lets hope that the BBC have learned something for next year from ITV's coverage. Can we have the old BBC signature tune and can they keep Martin Brundle in a job?

Bring back Murray! Brundle misses all sorts of important details that Murray would never have missed in the past.

I agree but unfortunately Murray's appearances these days are restricted to the Goodwood Revival Meeting.
I have his autobiography which is an excellent read.

I do find it a little unfeasible that he lost 18secs in the lap, so unless he did a 360 he may have just wanted Hamilton to win, rather than massa!
simple - Glock was lapping fast on his dry tyres compared to the guys on intermediates until the rain started hammering down just before the final lap (check the on-board camera footage if you missed it). With a bit more rain the dry tyres became slippy, so cornering became slower - dry tyres only work when you're hammering it because otherwise the tyres get cold and all of a sudden it's nearly impossible to stay on the track. An F1 dry tyre will be litterally 'sticky' when hot - imagine sellotape.

It was just a replay of why Hamilton lost 3 places during the mid-race rain - dry tyres on a wet track. One lap prior to pitting he was on the same pace as the guys on inters and lost over 10 seconds the next lap.

My heart rate would have been a lot more steady if Glock hadn't hung on until the last corner! Not to mention how much credit Vettel deserves for pressuring Lewis into submission 2 laps before victory!
That's the best race I've watched for years - everyone had some battles with the exception of Massa. Even Alonso managed to make his way all the way forward without any mess ups.

Murray Walker - very excitable commentry but I found myself shouting more abuse at his errors and oversights than Coulthard's! I breathed a sigh of relief when he went as then I could get back to my pastime of shouting abuse at Coulthard for as long as he struggled to stay in a race - especially when trying (failing) to overtake a slow car.
With the 2 of them gone I'll be restricted to shouting praise at Lewis for his frequent and well made overtaking manouevres...
