I've only tried white spirit on the brushes, and it does nothing. There again, I only use old brushes with hammerite, because I know what it's like, and I don't use it often enough to warrant buying proper cleaner.
Happy Minoring!

B&Q... 5 brushes for £2.50. Use it, wrap it in a plastic bag & seal; still good for about 2 weeks, after throw it away... big deal!!

I once used gloss exteria house paint to brush paint a car. It looked good when finished. I sold the car for double what I paid for it. It still looked good about 4 years latter.

do you guys have trade colleges over there. Over here it is called TAFE. They will paint your car for the cost of paint. It gives the students real life experience so they are normally only too happy to do it. Takes a few weeks though, but they do an excellent job. When I was younger(broke) we all got our cars painted by TAFE.

Les, Grant is in Oz. I don't know what happened to his location as I'm sure it was there before.
TAFE (Technical and Further Education) will paint cars, but usually you need a 'contact' inside TAFE to arrange things. The paintwork is not always 100% & can take months.
My step-mother had her car painted. It took 4 months for the job & 6 months after completion, several areas developed severe crazing.
Luckily it wasn't a Morris. :P
